Show moves into top gear
With two successful shows behind it, the Hong Kong International Auto Parts & Accessories Fair 2008 is now firmly established on the calendar. Players in the auto parts and accessories industry make a date to visit Hong Kong in April, to do business and update themselves on the latest developments and knowledge.
New exhibit profile
The scale of the fair is increasing by leaps and bounds. In 2008, it will expand its scope to include an even bigger range of auto accessories exhibits.
International attraction
The second edition of the event, drew a total of 263 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions. The fair organisers’ buyer recruitment programme worked its magic once again, attracting 6,523 trade visitors from 108 countries and regions from around the globe. This represented significant growth (50%) over the debut fair, reflecting the fact that the fair is becoming a key sourcing hub in the industry.
Two-way traffic
The statistics for 2007 underline the international nature of the event. It acts as a bridgehead between the developed and developing worlds, providing a gateway for North America and Europe, in particular, to tap into the tremendous potential
offered by the Chinese mainland and other Asian countries; it also offers a channel for Asian economies to establish
footholds in the Western auto sectors.
By participating in the fair, exhibitors have a great opportunity to meet buyers from many different markets, show their latest products and promote their company image. The atmosphere of the show is enhanced with a number of networking events
that allow exhibitors and visitors to mix in a relaxing atmosphere after business is concluded for the day.

Auto accessories showcase
Car owners, many of whom lavish great care and attention on their vehicles, create a huge demand for accessories. More exhibit categories are being added in the 2008 fair, particularly in the auto parts accessories sector.
In 2006, vehicle ownership in the Chinese mainland reached 33 million units. Ownership is expected to rise further to 56 millions units by 2010. Demand for accessories is going to be huge.
While a lot of attention is focused on the mainland market, the trend is also global. The European and the U.S. automotive aftermarkets are continuing to expand. In 2006, import of auto parts & accessories reached US$256bn in EU and US$89bn
in the US.
Acting as a platform to explore foreign markets as well as the gateway to enter the Chinese mainland market, the Hong
